By Road
Highway access to northwest BC is via the Trans-Canada Yellowhead Highway 16, which runs from Winnipeg, Manitoba in the east to the Queen Charlotte Islands in the west.
Connect with Highway 37 east of Terrace at Kitwanga for travel north to Stewart/Hyder. Highway 37 continues south to Kitimat at Terrace.
Connections to Highway 97, which travels south to Vancouver and north to Dawson Creek, are made at Prince George.
Transportation is also available by Greyhound Canada.
By Ferry
BC Ferries connects Northwest BC with Port Hardy and to the Queen Charlotte Islands at Prince Rupert. The Alaska ferry system also connects Northwest BC with southeast Alaska and the Yukon. Both ferry systems arrive and depart from Prince Rupert.

By Air
Air travel to Northwest BC is available via regularly scheduled service to Prince Rupert, Terrace and Smithers.
By Rail
Via Rail currently operates regular service through Northwest BC stopping at Terrace, Prince Rupert, and connecting through Prince George.
