Provincial Campgrounds

BC Parks operates a number of day use areas and full service campsites throughout Northwest BC. Some provincial campgrounds are on a reservation system while others are first-come, first-serve basis. Camping fees vary according to the facilities and services provided.

Tyhee Lake Provincial Park - Off Highway 16 and 10 km east of Smithers near Telkwa.

Ross Lake - 10 km east of Hazelton; 3km access road off Hwy 16.

Seeley Lake - 10 km west of Hazelton on Hwy #16.

Swan Lake Kispiox River - 110 km north of Kitwanga on Hwy #37 - turn onto Brown Bear Forest Service Road and travel 17 km to Brown Bear Lake.

Meziadin Lake - 155 km north of Kitwanga on Hwy #37 just south of Meziadin Junction.

Kleanza Creek - 19 km east of Terrace on Hwy #16.

Lakelse Lake (Reservations) - 20 km south of Terrace on Hwy #37.

Nisga'a Memorial Lava Bed - 100 km north of Terrace adjacent to New Aiyansh on the Nisga'a Highway.

Exchamsiks River - 56 km west of Terrace on Hwy #16.

Diana Lake (Day Use Only) - 16 km east of Prince Rupert on Hwy #16.

Prudhomme Lake - 16 km east of Prince Rupert on Hwy #16.

The Province of BC maintains a number of camping sites (formerly BC Forest Service Recreation Sites) throughout the region. The sites are rustic and usually small (less than 10 vehicle units) and are primarily located near lakes and rivers. Power hook-ups and piped water are not available, however basic sanitary facilities, fire rings, picnic tables and where appropriate, boat launch ramps are provided.
